Chevrolet and G2 Romania announced the 6th edition of the pan-European art for youth contest Young Creative Chevrolet (YCC), the edition with the highest number of entries since the launch in 2007.

For this year contest, the entries came from 250 applied arts universities from 24 countries, Romania being represented by 8 superior education institution. The important number of entries determined the organizers to extend the deadline for entries, from April 1st to May 1st.

The positive reactions from universities that interact with our program, as they also did during last years, are transforming into a real feedback. We are happy to receive in contest entries from a higher and higher number of students that are working hard to the projects in the 4 disciplines included in YCC 2012 applied arts contest: fashion design, photo, video and visual arts

The judges for each country where the contest runs will start in May. YCC juries include well-known artists and professionals in associate domains, but also high profile representatives from Chevrolet. The juries will chose each 3 national winners in each discipline, and the national winner from each will enter the European YCC finals. The finalist works will be evaluated by an European jury and the winners will receive their prizes during an awards gala

Chevrolet Europe launched the applied arts contest in 2007, aiming to encourage creativity and support young artists at the start of their career. Each year, more and more young artists answer the creative challenges Chevrolet has for them.

In 2012, entries for YCC were submitted by students from Armenia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Letonia, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland and UK.
