“Teach for Romania”, a cause with most donation pledges in “Everyone Gives” international social giving campaign

“Teach for Romania” is one of the causes that gathered the most important donation pledges within “Everyone Gives” international social giving campaign. Also, other important donation pledges went to Worthington Seventh Day Adventists (Ohio) and Mount Sinai Hospital Foundation (Toronto).

“Everyone Gives” global social giving campaign gathered $740,000, money that went to 1,500 charities. The campaign gathered the mentioned amount in just 17 days, from February 22nd to March 9th, with more than 12,000 individuals from 474 cities in 64 countries making donations.

When we developed this idea about launching a global social media campaign to raise money for charities and non-profits, we thought we’d be successful because we know that ultimately people are interested in helping other people, we just had to make it easy (…) The overwhelming response from around the world indicates a very bright future for social philanthropy

The campaign was supported by thousands of people, ranging from everyday folks to Britain’s former Prime Minister Tony Blair and celebrities like TV star Zak Bagans,  television host and executive producer for Ghost Adventures and Paranormal Challenge, and New York Times best-selling author.
