Cannes Lions and PHD launched an official app for the festival

Creativity, Mobile

Cannes Lions Creativity Festival launched a free app for iPhone and Android (soon for iPad also), together with PhD. The new app makes delegates and ad fans going or following Cannes to literally have the festival in their pocket.

The app allows following social feeds, read the news and see the latest photos and videos, to keep track of shortlists and entries one particularly interested in, uncover the program and save sessions and share them with friends. Also, it gives information related to where the biggest crowds during festival, using heat maps.

Registered delegates at the festival can also use premium features of the app, such as connecting with the other delegates (using the fully integrated version of Cannes Connect) and build up their personal collection of take-aways from the Festival in our new GoodyBag.

GoodyBag is an option to build up a digital portfolio so one can take-away assets from Cannes Lions 2012.  The app can be used to scan the bar code on a fellow delegate’s badge to save their contact details, scan a QR code in the shortlist exhibitions to save the work and also, save in PDF keynote presentations from different sessions that appear in app’s schedule.

The saved assets within GoodyBag saved during the festival will be saved in an unique folder on www.box.com. Users of the app will receive, after the 1st usage of “GoodyBag”, an email in which they are explained how to access all data they collect for free and download it in their computers.

The app also includes “Challenge Brands” from PHD and eatbigfish, that invites marketers and agencies to learn from a new generation of challenger brands as well as discover their own challenger type.

Cannes Lions Festival reached at its 59th edition and will take place on June 17th-23rd.
