London independent digital agency Tommy scooped triple accolades at Webby Award

The London based creative digital agency Tommy have scooped two Webby Award nominations and one Honoree nod for client projects delivered for categories covering Personal Website, Online film and Interactive Advertising Media campaigns.

The Webby Awards, now in it’s 17th year is the leading international award body, honoring excellence on the Internet and reflecting the tremendous growth of the Internet as a tool for business and everyday lives.

Tommy is a boutique agency with a team of 12 and just 3 years since it started its activity.

To be nominated for such awards makes all the hard work worth it and to be held in the same light as agencies that we’ve been admiring for years is extroadinary.

In Personal Blog or Website, the agency picked up a nomination for their work with mixed martial artist Brad Pickett, aka “One Punch” Pickett. Through creating a brand and online presence for the British UFC fighter, Tommy avoided traditional stereotypes and positioned Brad’s brand alongside more-mainstream elite sports stars. Tommy team members Will, Chris & Marcus wrote a Knowledge Bank piece for The Drum Magazine on the rise of Mixed Martial Arts and the UFC’s sponsorship deal with Broadcaster, Fox.  The material is available fully here.

The agency also got Honoree in Online film & video (Sports) with  The Road to Vegas .

Tommy also picked up a nomination in Interactive advertising &media: Best Banner Campaign, with Jake Reacher movie. The agency worked in tandem with both Yahoo! and Microsoft to create advertising that pushed boundaries on their respective platforms. With formats on web, mobile, tablet and new surface devices, this really was an all-encompassing banner campaign.  Microsoft Advertising GM & Tommy’s Managing Partner, Chris Edwards, discussed the “creative collaboration” process for Ads-in-apps beta launch in The Drum Magazine.
