Mediafax, Ringier and ThinkDigital to launch Project Agora in Romania

Business, Digital & Media

Mediafax, Ringier and ThinkDigital, operating the main 3 online media networks in Romania, announced their intention to launch, in collaboration with TailWind, Project Agora – a publishers’  premium programmatic marketplace based on building specific audiences.

The 3 players represent, together, over 75 premium websites that have, in total, over 450M views per month, reaching, in the same interval, around 4M Romanians (according to the most recent audience wave by BRAT and SATI).

The announcement was made by Odysseas Ntotsikas, founder and Managing Director TDG, during ICEEfest 2014, the most important interactive festival in Central and South Eastern Europe.

Local publishers continue to be the smallest soldiers in an intense war monopolized by international giants. While digital advertising continues to grow, local players’ share stagnated or is dropping. Publishers’ alliances developed all over the world, as they can offer the only way through which local media companies can regain their market-share and regain their strategic independence

Owned and operated by  TailWind and supported by AppNexus, Project Agora is a network of market-places from publishers from CEE, SEE and MENA. Project Agora’s mission is to create trustful websites to bring added value to advertisers, protecting, in the same time, the interests of local publishers.

The official launch for Project Agora is expected for this autumn
