Paul Frampton promoted to Chief Executive of Havas Media Group UK and Ireland

Business, Creativity, People

Paul Frampton, CEO of Havas Media and Managing Director of Havas Media Group UK, has been promoted to Chief Executive of Havas Media Group in the UK and Ireland. This announcement follows the recent move of Pedro Avery to Global CEO of Havas Sports & Entertainment.

As Havas Media Group’s UK MD, Frampton unified the management teams across the group for the core media agency brands, Havas Media, Arena Media and Forward Media; entertainment and experiential agency Havas Sports & Entertainment Cake; data management and customer engagement agencies DBi, ais London and Arnold KLP.

Frampton was also instrumental in extending Havas’ footprint into the North West, with the opening of Havas Village Manchester. Havas Media Ireland will also fall under his new remit.

Paul is an energetic and visionary leader.  He was one of the first in the group to leverage our meaningful connections and organic marketing propositions, laying the foundations for him to create a new, more integrated and flexible style of agency in the UK. This strategy has already delivered tangible benefits to our clients and our teams. I am fortunate to have such a talented executive leading the Havas Media Group in the UK and Ireland.

Dominique Delport,

Global Managing Director of Havas Media Group

Frampton will further focus on the Havas Group’s vision for innovation and build on the company’s client focused strategy for growth. This strategy has seen Havas Media Group’s billings rise to more than £500m. New business wins over the last year include the BBC, Royal Mail, O2, Jacobs Douwe Egberts, EA Games, Coca Cola, Canon and London Business School. Paul and his agency teams have also conceived award-winning campaigns such as Domino’s Pizza Legends and Channel 4’s Most Contagious Content with O2 Priority. They were also instrumental in the highly publicised changeover of the BBC’s first digital only channel, BBC 3, in the UK this week.

Paul Frampton

I am proud of the evolution the team at Havas Media Group has achieved in offering a fresh model for media to meet our client’s needs. The type of projects we are now working on take us beyond media, opening up more creative, innovative and exciting opportunities for our industry. We are all looking forward to our move to King’s Cross and building a new, future facing agency group in the Havas Village London.

Paul Frampton

As CEO of Havas Media UK & Ireland, Frampton is a true social leader. He oversees the three media agencies within Havas Media Group, namely Havas Media, Arena Media and Forward Media as well as Havas Sports & Entertainment Cake, ais London and Arnold KLP. He is also responsible for senior client relationships and growth by driving the Havas data and content vision through Havas Media Group specialist investment and digital resources.

Under his stewardship, the agency has launched HMG Consulting,  a data and tech consulting business to support brands on their digital transformation journey, and a new age digital performance business, Ecselis. Havas Media UK also expanded its offering by opening its doors in Manchester. Building on the success of Havas Lynx, Havas PR and Havas People, the Group unveiled the launch of the UK’s first Village offering across creativity, media, PR, data and technology – Havas Village Manchester.

During 2015 Frampton also oversaw prestigious new business wins for the Group including the BBC, EA as well as Royal Mail. In addition, Havas Media Group work won respected awards including the Media Week Big Idea Award for O2 Priority (Forward Media) and the Media Week Econometrics Award for Westfield (Arena Media).

Frampton also led the M&A strategy for data consultancy, DBi, and trends agency, SCB Partners. He heavily supported the start-up community and TechCity UK from its infancy, and works closely, in conjunction with the Havas 18 Hubs team, to encourage pioneering and meaningful partnerships between clients and start-ups.

A respected authority on industry trends, Frampton is a regular commentator for Campaign, which has enabled him to voice his perspective to current and future clients and, vitally, to engage with talent – something that he believes to be important in an era where authenticity is critical.

Frampton has worked at Havas for 18 years on numerous accounts including BBC, Nationwide, AXA, Emirates, National Express, EDF Energy, Hyundai KIA, PayPal, Birds Eye and Pernod Ricard UK. He sits on the Havas UK Leadership team as well as the IPA Council and is a mentor for The Marketing Academy.

Havas Media Group UK has a clear ambition to be the most integrated agency group, fostering close collaboration through a ‘one vision, one voice’ strategy. It brings together the media talent within Havas – one of the leading global communications and marketing groups.  It employs over 700 people in the UK and in 2015 had billings in excess of £500million. It has three key media businesses, Havas Media, Arena Media and Forward Media – all of which work alongside Havas Sports and Entertainment Cake – the industry’s largest global brand engagement network. Specialist divisions that also feed into the group include: Ecselis – performance marketing agency; DBi – digital analytics agency; LuxHub – fashion, luxury and lifestyle agency; Socialyse – paid and earned social unit and SCB Partners – trends based research consultancy.

In 2017, Havas Media Group UK will join Havas Creative Group in the Havas Village London – thus operating as one single operational unit. Havas has taken an entire building in King’s Cross – between the upcoming Google office and Central Saint Martin’s College. Havas Village London will bring together 20 businesses and 1,400 people from across the creative and media groups to create a fully integrated offering to meet its clients’ needs.
