8 shortlists for Romania kicking off the Awards Week at Cannes Lions 2016

The first round of shortlists from Cannes Lions are up, in the Promo, Direct, Radio, Glass and Print categories. Romania managed to bag a total of 8: five in Promo, two in Direct and one in Radio.

The leading agency so far is McCann Bucharest, with 4 nominations: 2 for Bittersweet Pies, the gender equality campaign for Paul Restaurants, both in the Promo category (Use of customer in-store experience and Low-budget campaign). The Go Mono campaign, for Radio 21, was also awarded a shortlist in the same category. The fourth one was awarded in Direct: Pay with Blood for UNTOLD Festival.

The ACR Street View Test by Publicis for Automobile Club of Romania was shortlisted twice, in the Promo and Direct categories. This comes as no surprise, since this new take on how one studies for the Driver’s License test has already won a few awards in regional competitions and was also shortlisted in 2015, in PR.

The fifth and last but not least shortlist in Promo for Romania was awarded to Purity Test by Cohn & Jansen for Aqua Carpatica.

Ogilvy & Mather Bucharest managed to get shortlisted in a difficult category, Radio, with their Greek Holiday campaign for VICE Romania.

All in all, it is a good start of the week for Romanian agencies. Best of luck to an ever-growing list of shortlists that will eventually become hard metals.
