24th Golden Drum – over 1,000 works to compete for awards

24th Golden Drum, scheduled to take place on October 18-20 in Ljubljana (Slovenia), sees over 1,000 creative works competing for festival’s awards this year. Besides the main competition, City of Ljubljana and Golden Drum challenged young creatives to take part in the traditional Young Drummers Competition, competition where 112 posters were submitted.

27 different countries and 26 different agency networks submitted their entries and 117 independent agencies will compete for the Golden Dragon Award.

Bulgaria is the country with the highest growth of submitted entries (250% more than last year). From the 27 countries competing this year, Russia submitted the most entries (20,8% of all works), that being 42% more than last year.  The second biggest country entering the competition is Turkey (14, 1% of all works). This year also Italy joined the Golden Drum Competition.

In the Best Piece Competition section, the highest amount of the submitted entries is in the groups A. Film (14,4%), B. Press (13,4%) and C. Out of Home (12,4%), while in the Best Practice Competition section the leading group is S. Branded content & entertainment (7,4%), followed by group U. Public relations (7,2%).

The creative works will be judged by 27 top internationally recognized experts. Golden Drum Best Piece Jury President is Bruno Bertelli, Global Chief Creative Officer, Publicis Worldwide and John Mescall, Global Executive Creative Director and President of McCann Global Creative Leadership Council is the Best Practice Jury President. Entries of the Young Drummers Competition will be judged by a five-member jury led by Tereza Svěráková, Chief Creative Officer at Y&R Czech Republic.
