Business, Creativity, Festivals & Awards

Starting February 14th, film and multimedia producers, agencies, TV stations and companies from the automotive sector as well as students are invited to submit their creative works and compete for the prestigious OttoCar trophies.

For more than 25 years the AutoVision Festival biennially awards the world’s best film and multimedia productions from the automotive industry with gold, silver and black OttoCar trophies.

Entries can be made in the following categories: Commercials (TV & Cinema), TV Programs, Websites, Online / Interactive / Multimedia, Corporate Films & Videos, Production Arts & Crafts and Students. It is possible to enter in a total of 42 categories.

In order to meet the latest industry trends, the category “Mobility Services (Carsharing, Rental Cars, Ridesharing etc.)” was added to the festival’s category list. Moreover, the two new categories “Social Media & Short Videos” and “Best Sound Design” were created. Since 2017 it is also possible to submit 360-degree videos and VR productions.

All submitted entries are evaluated by an international expert jury, consisting of film and multimedia producers, marketing and advertising professionals as well as media representatives. The “Grand Prix for Film” and the “Grand Prix for Interactive & Multimedia” will be awarded to the two most outstanding productions of the festival edition.

The Awards Ceremony will take place on September 12th, 2019 within the framework of one of the world’s biggest events in this field, the International Motor Show (IAA) in Frankfurt/Main, Germany.

“We are very pleased about the long-standing support of the VDA, the German Association of the Automotive Industry, which enables us to hold our festival every two years at this renowned automobile exhibition.”, underlines festival director Alexander V. Kammel.

Since 1993 the gold, silver and black OttoCar trophies are awarded every two years in the context of one of the world’s biggest events in that field. It has been 25 years by now that the festival has been able, by the support of the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA), to establish itself in this area and to position itself at the world’s top of the film and multimedia production festivals in the automotive sector. The festival has already been able to count all the leading automobile production companies among its participants: Porsche, Daimler, BMW, Audi, Ford, Hyundai, Honda, Kawasaki, Shell, Volvo, VW, Goodyear and many more.
