The next generation of Romanian artists exhibits its works at DIPLOMA 2019

The six edition of the DIPLOMA festival, a project initiated by The Institute and inspired by UniCredit Bank, presents in front of the large public a new generation of Romanian creatives. Therefore, the festival’s visitors have the opportunity of admiring the works of young artists before they exhibit in local or international galleries. DIPLOMA will take place October 11-20 2019, in Bucharest, in a historical building on  CA Rosetti Street (the former Cina restaurant). The access is free.

The festival includes a series of exhibitions, structured on several fields such as Architecture, Interior Architecture, Urbanism, Graphic Design, Industrial Design and Object Design, Fashion, Painting, Sculpture, Mural Art, Textile Art, Ceramics – Glass – Metal, Graphics or Photo-Video, displayed in the Cina building space, reopen with this occasion for the big public.

The exhibitions reunite over 120 works of the graduated youngsters of the creative-vocational universities in the whole country. Those were selected by the members o the festival’s creative board from hundred of entered works.

Moreover, in order to mark the strategic partnerships with the important profile universities in Romania, DIPLOMA 2019 includes three capsule exhibitions dedicated to the anniversaries of the Timisoara West University – The Faculty of Arts and Design (celebrating 75 years of existence through the project The Artist’s Golden Hand, signed by Mihai Zgondoiu), the National Bucharest Arts University (UNArte) – celebrating 50 years from the first superior design teaching section in Romania- and the Cluj Napoca Arts and Design University (UAD) – celebrating 25 years of the UAD Fashion Design Gala and presenting the BOL Fashion Of Nature collections by Oana Lupas, Chic Utility by Diana Flore, the collection’s campaign being done alongside the stylist Amir Dobos, and House of Compulsion by Alina Morar and Anca Belbe.

The event also includes a series of conferences done by the National Arts University in Bucharest, the Architecture and Urbanism Ion Mincu University and the Chamber of Architects in Romania, that tackle subjects such as the creative entrepreneurship, the local art market or insights about the architect’s role. There will be also workshops and parties meant to encourage the multi-disciplinary dialogue, but also to attract a big as possible audience towards the creations, the works and the concepts signed by the young artists.
