Mastercard and DPD, extended partnership on Romanian market to encourage card payments at delivery

Business, e-Commerce, Finances

Mastercard and DPD launched a partnership aimed to encourage the direct card payments for the delivery of goods bought online. The solution, launched in 2016, aims to become a safe and secure payment alternative both for consumer and the delivery man, which is forced now to have large amounts of money on him during the work hours.

It sometimes happens to everyone that, the moment the courier reaches the address, we won’t have cash on us to pay for the package. Most of the times, the journey to the closest bank machine represents lost time both for us and the delivery guy, that is forced to wait. In this direction, the option to pay with card at delivery it is more then welcome, especially due to security and easiness the payment can be done

The payment with card at delivery is a significant benefit both for our couriers and for the package receivers. A DPD courier makes, on average, 60 deliveries a day and can have on him a considerable amount, facing risks we would like to remove. In the same time, we understand our clients need flexibility and handy solutions that wouldn’t involve supplementary problems and extra-trips in order to pay for the delivery. The partnership with Mastercard helps us facilitate the efforts of all parties involved and the delivery is made fast, safe and without headaches
