DIPLOMA 2019 registered over 10 000 unique visitors

DIPLOMA, the young artists’ national festival, a project initiated by The Institute and inspired by UniCredit Bank, registered over 10 000 unique visitors at this year’s edition that took place October 11-20 in the historical monument building on 3, C.A. Rosetti Street.

The DIPLOMA festival presented to the public the best graduation works of the future generation of artists and creators such as plastic arts, decorative arts, architecture and design, before their authors to become famous. The exhibition reunited over 120 works from young artists that graduated from creative-vocational universities from allover the country, the selection of the projects having been done by a creative board formed this year of over 40 seniors in creative fields such as: architects, designers, cultural managers, gallery owners, urbanists, photographers, stylists, editors, entrepreneurs, illustrators, active and dedicated to their area professionals.

The design of the exhibition was signed this year as well by Attila KIM Architects.

Moreover, in order to mark the strategic partnerships with the important profile universities in Romania, DIPLOMA 2019 included three capsule exhibitions dedicated to Timisoara West University, Bucharest National Art University and The University of Arts and Design in Cluj Napoca.

The festival also proposed a series of conferences, Diploma Talks, that brought in front of the participants the success stories of some entrepreneurs and creatives with experience: The anatomy of a creative business, The Art market in Romania and Ways of working as an architect.

Moreover, the festival had a printed stickers’ workshop through the woodcut technique with Maria Balan, by feeder.ro x DIPLOMA.

Throughout the 10 days of the festival, the exhibition’s visitors had access to part of the first speciality library from the Department of Design at UNARTE, bought with the help of UniCredit Bank, Doina Popescu, Valeria Racila van Groningen, Stefan Iordache and Mihai Paunescu. The visitors had the occasion of donating design, arts, architecture and communication books directly at the festival. The initiative was supported and joined by Igloo media, Zeppelin magazine, Roxana Gamart and The Center for Documentary Photography.

The end of the festival was marked by a Closing Party DIPLOMA x feeder.ro, event organized in the central space, with a DJ set prepared by Piktor and Eirwud Mudwasser and live painting by Irina Mocanu.

In the festival’s context also took place a series of connected events meant to bring closer a larger public towards the creations, works and concepts signed by the young artists.
