Impact Hub searches for entrepreneurs to revolutionize agriculture and food industry via tech

Business, Start Up

Impact Hub Bucharest  and  EFSE Entrepreneurship Academy are launching a pre-acceleration program dedicated to those who can propose tech solutions that have the capacity to change food industry or agriculture. Food & Agri Tech Challenge is looking for start-ups with feasible ideas to attend the bootcamp and a 6 months growth to reach from idea to validated prototype.

Food & Agri Tech Challenge targets startups that can come up with developed business ideas, based on technology, in agriculture or food industry. Among the targeted sectors are, for example, quality and traceability (safety of food, quality of plants and food), agriculture tech (precision agriculture, animal health, vertical and in doors agriculture), new distribution channels (direct distribution, digital restaurants, new ways to deliver)

In Romania, there are very few start-ups active in the 2 areas targeted by this program, which would improve via tech agriculture or processes from food industry. The future, if not even present, will demand from us to become more efficient also in this areas and we assume the pioneering role to raise attention over those needs and to create new communities and networks. We wish for Food & Agri Tech Challenge to be a program with continuity and we expect anxiously to hear the ideas of the participants

Oana Craioveanu,

CEO & Co-founder Impact Hub Bucharest.

Enlisting into the program is free and available until November 30th, on fatchallenge.ro. Following a selection made by organizers, 15 teams will attend a 2-days bootcamp, on December 13-14, where they will develop their ideas under the guidance of mentors and specialists with experience in the 2 sectors, but also in developing a startup.

Pre-accelerator will take place during 6 months, from January to June 2020 and will close with a Demo Day, public event where the participants will present their ideas to potential clients, investors, partners or other people active in the mentioned sectors and interested in innovation

On November 8th, Impact Hub Bucharest organizes Food & Agri Tech Conference, where the themes approached will cover challenges and opportunities for entrepreneurs that want to start a tech business in those industries, the state of the ecosystem now, the resources needed for innovation and criteria and processes to participate the pre-acceleration program.

Impact Hub Bucharest is present in Romanian capital since 2012 and is part of the global Impact Hub network, that has 110 locations on 4 continents.
