A marathon of generosity during December 15–19: Dana Voiculescu and the Foundation’s team delivered gifts to 500 children across four counties
This year, the Dana Voiculescu Foundation launched a new edition of the campaign “Be Santa Claus for a Day!”, integrated into the national program “The Solidarity Caravan.” On December 15, Dana Voiculescu, founder of the Foundation, together with her team, embarked on an extensive marathon of generosity, personally delivering gifts to 500 children from the counties of Dolj, Ilfov, Alba, and Hunedoara.
The Solidarity Caravan is one of the most important programs run by the Dana Voiculescu Foundation, taking place at least three times a year—at Easter, Christmas, and during the summer—and is dedicated to vulnerable communities across the country. From one year to the next, the initiative has grown steadily, expanding to more and more localities and bringing together thousands of people who choose to get involved, donate, and bring joy where it is needed most.

“The Solidarity Caravan is a commitment we honor with emotion and responsibility, year after year. It is our way of being present in the lives of these children, of showing them that they are seen, heard, and supported. Our caravan touches all three hearts of the Foundation’s mission: children who dream of a world bigger than their village, elderly people who long for a kind word and a human presence, and gentle four-legged souls who need food, care, and a bit of love. This caravan is not just a route on a map, but a journey toward people. And for us, every destination represents a promise fulfilled. I thank all the donors, volunteers, and partners who join us and make this initiative possible,” said Dana Voiculescu, founder of the Dana Voiculescu Foundation.
As part of this year’s campaign, children sent letters with their wishes for Santa Claus, and the Foundation’s team, with the support of the donor community, mobilized to make those wishes come true. The prepared gifts included winter clothing, footwear, school supplies, toys, educational games, and other essential items for the children’s development and comfort.
“For us, every journey, every stop, and every smile we receive is confirmation that we are doing what is right. Behind every gift there is a story and a need, and our mission is to respond with care and responsibility. We want this caravan to remain a benchmark of solidarity in Romania. It is not just a seasonal initiative, but a strong message about the importance of community involvement. We hope that more and more people will join us and that together we can turn kindness into a tradition,” Dana Voiculescu added.
The Solidarity caravan route – December 2025 edition:
- December 15 – Craiova, Dolj County
- December 16 – Micșuneștii Mari, Ilfov County
- December 18 – Alba Iulia, Alba County
- December 19 – Deva, Hunedoara County
Throughout this week, the Foundation’s team interacted directly with children and their families, distributed gifts, and documented the specific needs of each community for future projects. The Solidarity Caravan continues to be a symbol of involvement and responsibility toward the community—a project about good people who choose to change lives through action.
