37 trophies were awarded to 17 agencies and Romanian companies during the Gala of the Romanian Effie Awards 2017. The top winner of the 14th edition was the agency The Hub Partners, at its first participation in the competition after just 18 months since starting its activity on Romanian market. The Hub Partners scooped the Grand Effie Award for the campaign „Blending Spirits”, brand J&B. In total, the awarded agencies went home with a Grand EFFIE, seven Golds, 18 Silvers and 12 Bronzes; initially, the competition attracted 106 campaigns, from which 56 made it in finals.
The agencies winning at Romanian Effie Awards were: Cohn & Jansen JWT, FCB Bucharest, First Content Studio, GMP Advertising, Graffiti BBDO, Headvertising, Jazz, Leo Burnett Romania/Publicis One, Making of Promotion, McCann Worldgroup Romania, Mediacom, NURUN, Propaganda, Publicis Romania/Publicis One, The Hub Partners, Webstyler and WOPA.
The jury was presided by Saul Betmead – Chief Strategy Officer, EMEA at Young & Rubicam Group and consisted of over 90 top management professionals from companies and advertising agencies and from the academic field. The campaigns were evaluated from the perspective of the results in sales and the communication objectives set, achieved and surpassed.
Taking an overall look, I consider that the entered works, both while it regards the “insight”, the idea, the execution and the level of the study cases, are of a very good quality. Moreover, the jurors were passionate and cerebral at the same time – just a delight to work with them. Therefore, I believe that the marcomm, as business, has a bright future in Romania
Agency of the Year became McCann Worldgroup Romania, followed by GMP Advertising and Webstyler. Brands of the Year were: J&B, Itsy Bitsy and KFC, while Clients of the Year – Itsy Bitsy, P.P Distributors Romania, The Coca-Cola Company, U.S. Food Network.
