WarnerMedia EMEA appointed Jamie Friend Country Manager for Nordic & Central Eastern Europe

Priya Dogra, President WarnerMedia EMEA & Asia (excl. China), announced that Jamie Friend has been appointed Country Manager for WarnerMedia Nordic & Central and Eastern Europe, in addition to his current role as Chief Financial Officer for WarnerMedia EMEA.

As Country Manager, Friend will be responsible for the development and execution of WarnerMedia’s strategy and optimisation of all commercial and group marketing activities across Nordics & Central and Eastern Europe. His remit includes theatrical distribution, local theatrical productions, content licensing, home entertainment and consumer products, as well as ad sales and affiliate distribution for the WarnerMedia channels and streaming services. He will work closely with WarnerMedia Studios & Networks and with the HBO Max organisation across EMEA.

Since joining the company eight years ago, Friend has held a number of senior strategy and finance roles, including responsibility for optimising new business initiatives and opportunities for growth in EMEA.

The appointment follows the announcement of Iris Knobloch’s decision to leave the company.

In addition to his new Country Manager remit, Jamie Friend continues to serve as Chief Financial Officer for WarnerMedia EMEA, responsible for the company’s financial planning and analysis across its diverse media portfolio and with oversight of commercial finance and corporate strategy teams. 

Friend’s previous roles at the company included CFO for WarnerMedia Entertainment Networks EMEA & APAC. Prior to this he was CFO for the Turner businesses in EMEA having originally joined the company as VP Strategy & Insights for Turner EMEA. Prior to joining the company Friend held senior strategy and business development roles at Arqiva and The Walt Disney Company, having started his career in strategy consulting. Friend holds an MA in Biochemistry and Management from Cambridge University.
