Ringier takes over leading Romanian job portal eJobs.ro

Digital & Media, Media

Ringier, one of the leading international media companies in Romania, has acquired the majority shares of Ejobs Group, operator of Romanian online jobs portal eJobs.ro. With this move, Ringier Romania has further strengthened its digital footprint, following Ringier’s overall strategy to increase digital market share in all markets.

Since its launch in 1999, eJobs.ro has been the leader of the Romanian jobs portal market. As per January 2012, eJobs has more than 1.7 million unique visitors per month. The acquisition is in line with the global strategy of Ringier to grow its digital business, with a special focus on transaction based online revenues.

Ringier will take over 70% of the shares of Ejobs Group. This package consists of the majority of shares currently owned by the two local founders of eJobs, Liviu Dumitrascu and Daniel Tatar, as well as the stake of a financial investor.

After completion of the transaction, the two founders will stay in the company as minority shareholders and will also be further involved as top managers in the eJobs.ro business.

We are proud to become part of the Ringier Group and we are fully confident that this is the right path for eJobs going forward. We will continue to add value to our clients through innovation and relentless focus on their needs.

 Liviu Dumitrascu

The acquisition of Ejobs is the next important strategic step for Ringier to increase the share of digital business in all markets. Ejobs is a highly profitable company and ideally complementing our digital market presence in Romania.
