Romania starts from “pole position” at Golden Drum 2008

According to organizers of Golden Drum, competition that will take place in Portoroz on October 5-10, the agencies and creatives from Romania entered 318 works in the official competition and in the ones that take place during the festival.

On agencies, Leo Burnett entered the most works – 24, followed by Publicis and McCann Erickson – 21 each. Next are Next Advertising – 17, Propaganda – 16, Grey Bucharest – 15, Tempo Advertising – 13, Saatchi&Saatchi – 12 and Graffiti BBDO – 10.

Ogilvy Romania entered, in total, 16 works (Ogilvy & Mather – 8, Ogilvy Bucureşti – 1,  Ogilvy Action – 1 and Ogilvy One Advertising – 6). On the other hand, Sorin Liurea, Copywriter Ogilvy Action, entered individually the competition, with an outdoor execution. Ogilvy also has participants in unofficial competitions (at least one copywriter with 3 entries)

Also present in Golden Drum competitions are Cohn &Jansen / Ashley & Holmes (9), Utopium (9), Draftfcb (4), GAV (8), Scala JWT (8), Lowe & Partners (5), Mercury360 (7), Brandstalk (7), Bigger Group (4),101 Worldwide România (4), Odyssey Communication (6), Rusu+Borţun / Brand Growers (5),Webstyler (2), Spotlight (1), TBWA / Merlin (2) and TVR (1).

Romanians entered most works in Press (89), TV (42) and Outdoor (39), but also in Radio and Interactive (23 entries in each category), Media Campaigns (15), Design & Art Direction (9), Advertising Campaigns (7), Film & TV Promo (1). Moreover, Romanian creatives entered works in Open Ad TV (1) and Open Ad Print (2) and also in Piran University City (49) and Piran I Feel Slovenia (22) competitions.

Romania is leader this year when it comes to entries, with 318 works, followed by Russia – 274, Slovenia – 241, Austria – 219, Czech Republic -213 and Poland – 206.

In total, Golden Drum attracted 2,753  entries this year, down from 3,106 last year.
