Facebook had revenues of around $800 million in 2009, as network’s financial performance was influenced by explosive growth in users and advertisers during last year, according to Reuters.

According to sources quoted by Reuters, the company also earned a solid net profit of tens of millions of dollars.

Facebook’s backers include Digital Sky Technologies, Microsoft Corp, Hong Kong tycoon Li Ka-shing and venture capital firms Accel Partners, Greylock Partners and Meritech Capital Partners.
