Romanian Realitatea TV gets politicians to effectively make the news, for one weekend

Realitatea TV launched an unusual editorial project, giving politicians the opportunity to become presenters, reporters, redactors or TV hosts.

Realitatea TV redaction opened for the Romanian politicians, that will have the opportunity, this week-end, to make the daily agenda, to chose the subjects to broadcast and the approach to realize the subjects, but also to be moderators of TV station’s shows.

On March 17th and 18th, presenters, reporters and moderators will be replaced by members of all political parties in Romania. Politicians were already invited in Realitatea’s redaction and are subject to intensive trainings aimed to familiarize them with what it means to be a TV journalist.

All the communication platforms belonging to Realitatea Media – Realitatea TV, Realitatea.net and Realitatea FM – will relay the content generated and distributed by the new journalists.

Through this project, Realitatea TV tries to make a total transparency exercise: the politicians will be present at agenda meetings, will choose subjects and approach angles, the order the news will enter the journals and the people that will be invited to TV’s shows. Meanwhile, the project represents an image exercise for all the participants, that will have the occasion to present themselves to the public in an inedite posture, the one of impartial journalists, capable to make a team with colleagues from another parties.
