UPDATED: Ronald Binkofski leaves Microsoft Romania, takes over as GM at Microsoft Poland

Ronald Binkofski quit Microsoft Romania, two years after he was appointed General Manager, Zoso.ro wrote. According to the same source, Sorin Eftene might be the next in line for the job.

Binkofski confirmed the info for Wall-Street.ro and added that more details will follow.

According to an official Microsoft press release, Ronald Binkofski continues his career as General Manager Microsoft Poland, while Sorin Eftene takes over Microsoft Romania, as interim General Manager.

Binkofski joined Microsoft Poland in 2006 as director of Developer & Platform Evangelism Division and continued his career as Chief Operating Officer of Microsoft’s Polish branch. In October 2010, he was appointed General Manager Microsoft Romania and, during his mandate, Microsoft developed substantially its business and presence on Romanian market.

I am thankful for the chance I had to lead Microsoft Romania. I will always remain close to the people I had the opportunity to work with. During more than 2 years, I had exceptional performances as a result of the intense team work and extraordinary partnerships. In the same time, I’m honored by the appointment as General Manager Microsoft Poland, a role in which I will continue to promote Central and Eastern Europe as the best place in the world for people and businesses

He will continue to contribute to some of the key initiative Microsoft has on Romanian market, including the strategic partnership with Romanian Government.

In the same time, Sorin Eftene was appointed interim General Manager Microsoft Romania. Sorin Eftene is one of the 1st employees Microsoft had in Romania, with a successful career in management position within Microsoft Services division and, most recently, as Director of Enterprise & Partner Group. With this appointment, Sorin Eftene becomes member in Microsoft’s management team for Central and Eastern Europe.
