Vodafone Romania received, during Golden Drum gala on Friday, the Brand Grand Prix accolades. This was the second time in 4 years when Golden Drum’s jury designates Vodafone Romania as the most performant and creative brand in the region.
At Golden Drum 2014, Ghita – The Social Shepard had 4 nominations and transformed all in accolades: Grand Prix in Integrated Campaigns, 2 Golden Drum in Digital (Single Channel) and Digital (Multi-Channel) and 1 Silver in Public Relations (Multi-Channel). Vodafone Romania was also nominated in Direct (Single Channel) for Digital Library.
This international recognition achieved at Golden Drum 2014 isn’t just a living proof of the fact that Vodafone Romania is one of the most creative brands in Central and Eastern Europe, but also a confirmation of the fact that the story our brand is telling are relevant and authentic and not only on local level. Two years ago, we started to communicate under the umbrella “Romanians have initiative” and, ever since, we chose to tell the true stories of courageous Romanians which, with technology’s help, are transforming for better their lives and the lives of those around them. For us, the campaign centered around Ghita The Shepard had impressive results: in just a month since launch, Ghita was one of the most popular characters in social media, managing to reach in top 3 celebrities in Romania on Facebook. The campaign also had a considerable commercial impact, marking the moment when the smartphones’ sales surpassed the feature phones ones. In 2011, Vodafone Romania got Brand Grand Prix distinction to the same festival after winning 10 awards with campaigns like “Wedding”, “Cerebel” and “Chivu”, developed also together with McCann Bucharest
This year, our 18 years long partnership with Vodafone Romania proved once more a successful one, both in terms of business results and in terms of creativity. We started this extraordinary year on local level, at Romanian Effies (winners of Grand Effie), we on global level by winning in Cannes Lions (Bronze Lion) and now we are celebrating together a regional achievement, in Golden Drum. The thing we are most proud of is that, from the hundreds of brands which entered Golden Drum, Vodafone Romania showed it is the most successful one and won Brand Grand Prix for the second time during the festival. Ghita The Shepard campaigns is also the most awarded campaign in McCann CEE network and had a major contribution in winning Network of the Year title
