The Social Element, the world’s largest, independent social media agency, has added Amy Gilbert as its new Director of Social Content.

The Social Element boasts a diverse global network of people and clients. The addition of Gilbert to the company’s 350-strong staff across the world further strengthens the agency’s ongoing ambition to challenge conventional agency models while celebrating diversity, female entrepreneurialism and safety online.

Most recently with 360i, Gilbert arrives at The Social Element with a copious amount of social media capabilities and industry know-how. As Associate Director of Social for 360i, Gilbert led a team of social marketers and strategists while partnering with creatives to produce social content for top CPG and fashion brands, such as Mondelez, OREO, HanesBrands Inc. and Nestlé Waters.

Prior to 360i, Gilbert worked for Fodor’s Travel (then a part of Random House) as their forum moderator and community manager. In total, Gilbert will bring over 11 years of social media experience to The Social Element.

“As our new Director of Social Content, Amy will help lead our social content discipline in the United States,” says Ashley Cooksley, Managing Director for North America. “She brings a fresh point of view and understanding of consumer culture to our clients that will cause captivating and impactful social content solutions.”

As a consultant with a people-first approach to management and social media planning, Gilbert is thrilled to work for an agency with a similar approach:

“The agency’s path mirrored my own career evolution, where I initially focused on community management and moderation. Over time, I transformed that knowledge into helping brands unlock their unique DNA and create engaging social content,” Gilbert continued. “In addition, I appreciate The Social Element’s focus on genuine human connection, represented by both how they approach staff and how they pursue social engagement.”

The Social Element is an independent, female owned and global team of geeky pioneers, using their social media superpowers to help clients connect with their audience in the most powerful way. Uniquely, The Social Element is a global leader and pioneer in remote working. The company has maintained a remote-working model since day one. Now, The Social Element has over 350 staff members globally with 94% of them working remotely for international brands like VISA, Diageo, American Express and Mondelez.
