A total of eight new managers and consultants have joined Data scientists Ekimetrics’ UK team in January as the data science consultancy ramps up its recruitment efforts to support a growing UK client base.

Virgin Media O2’s Laura Mansell and Capita’s Karin Sasaki join the team as Senior Manager and Senior Consultant, respectively. They will help develop and deliver data science solutions for clients including application development, data architecture, and Media Mix Optimisation (MMO).

Senior Manager Laura Mansell has eight years’ experience working on marketing effectiveness, social media and marcomms campaigns at Virgin Media O2. She will provide support to clients and help embed Ekimetrics Media Mix Modelling (MMM) tools.

She will be joined by Senior Consultant Karin Sasaki. Karin has a PhD in mathematics and five years’ experience in data modelling and analysis for business and academia. She has worked with a variety of data, from business operations and strategy to molecular biology. She previously held Data Scientist positions at Capita and Kantar.

The new starters join the company at an exciting time. Ekimetrics picked up the Attribution Award at the WARC Awards for Media 2021 for “using advanced analytics to market profitability in a pandemic” on behalf of hospitality brand Accor.

Accor employed a data-driven, multi-scenario approach to make its marketing more agile and overcome the challenges of the Covid-19 shut down, followed by various re-openings in different markets across Europe. While the leisure industry was hard hit by the pandemic last year, Ekimetrics’ advanced analytics capabilities helped ensure that Accor could still market profitably during this period.

Matt Andrew, UK Managing Director, Ekimetrics, said:

“We’ve seen significant growth over the last 12 months, so we’re starting the year the way we mean to go on. We’re committed to building a diverse, world-class team of data science experts, while providing long-term development opportunities for all our people.”

Laura Mansell, Senior Manager, Ekimetrics, said:

“I’m delighted to be joining an expanding and diverse team at an exciting time. I’ll be working with clients to ensure they have a framework in place that allows them to deliver actionable solutions using their data.”

Karin Sasaki, Senior Consultant, Ekimetrics, said:

“It’s rare to find companies that combine data science and consultancy, and Ekimetrics do both very well. I look forward to helping our clients build out their data capabilities to drive their marketing and operational performance.”
