8 Pencils for Denmark at D& AD Awards

Danish agencies had a total of 19 winning entries at this year’s D&AD Awards and scooped 8 Pencils, with &Co Copenhagen and The Unicorn bringing home 2 Pencils each. Denmark ranked 18th in Top Countries ranking at this years awards.

Denmark scored 2 Graphite Pencils via Hello Monday (with Fingerspelling.xyz) in Digital Design – Digital Experiences and &Co Copenhagen (Helmet has always been a good idea) in Entertainment – Short Scripted Films. Same & Co campaign got also. a Wood Pencil in Entertainment – Integrated.

Another Wood Pencil went to Lego Group for “Ekow Nimako – Rebuild The World” in Entertainment – Non-Scripted Long Form.

The Unicorn received both its Wood Pencils for “Doctors Without Borders – Click”, in Film, in TV/VOD commercials and, respectively, Health & Wellbeing.

An extra Graphite Pencil went to Alex Hunting Studio and Staffan Sundström, for Kindling Issue 3 in Magazine & Newspaper, while an extra Side Hustle Pencil was awarded to Hans Høite Augustenborg & Andreas Kofoed Sørensen for Canairi in Side Hustle – Start Up /Junior Professional.

D&AD announced 3 Black Pencil winners amongst Pencil winners across the Craft categories Illustration, Photography, Typography, and Writing for Design, Side Hustle, Design, Culture and Impact.

  • The Lost Class, Leo Burnett Chicago, Branding, Tactical

To fight for common sense gun laws, Leo Burnett Chicago held a graduation ceremony for the 3,044 students who would have graduated this year if they hadn’t been killed by a gun. 

  • Hopeline19, adam&eveDDB, Creative Transformation, Engagement

On Emergency Services Day, adam&eveDDB launched Hopeline19 – a free phone service for the British nation to leave messages of support for frontline workers. 

  • Real Tone, Google, Product Design, Inclusive

Real Tone is a collection of technical improvements to the Pixel 6 camera and Google Photos that more accurately and beautifully highlight the nuances of all skin tones.

The 278 Pencil winning works and all shortlisted entries are showcased on the D&AD website. The winners were announced during the second of two digital ceremonies hosted on the D&AD website, which featured speeches from D&AD President Rebecca Wright in celebration of the winners.
