ARTmania, one of the longest-running rock festivals in Romania, together with Kaufland Romania, announces the launch of a partnership with the Hope and Homes for Children Foundation to support the children in need cared by the foundation.

During the festival, between July 22 and 24, Hope and Homes for Children Foundation will be present in the Large Square of Sibiu. At the NGO’s corner, the young and old music lovers will be greeted with a series of fun and educational activities: a wheel of luck (where one can win prizes), face painting, modelled balloons and a photo booth which will offer the festival goers the chance to immortalize their festival memories.

Also, those who wish to help the foundation’s projects dedicated to supporting children, can do so by donating at the organization’s stand, funds which will be further used to help the NGO’s objective of building houses for children from the institutionalized system and to offer them the chance to grow in an environment similar to a family environment. In addition to this, objects signed by artists will be waiting for those who are present at the festival and want to support children talented in music, whose abilities need to be cultivated.

“We are proud to support such a special cause. The collaboration which we are starting this year with our friends from the Hope and Homes for Children Foundation gives us the opportunity to help their efforts to give institutionalized children and young people a chance at a normal life.

Since the festival’s launch, 15 years ago, I continued to believe in the music power’s to change destinies, to shape the future adults, and this collaboration represents another step taken to turn this belief into reality”, said Codruta Vulcu, ARTmania festival founder and director.

The initiatives dedicated to supporting young generations’ development and their exploration of the music area continue this year as well with the “Pune mana pe chitara” NGO collaboration, a tradition since 2017.

Started as a socio-cultural experiment, “Pune mana pe chitara” aims to educate children living in Sibiu in a non-formal manner, through guitar and music lessons, thus supporting them in developing new skills or in starting a musical career.

To contribute to supporting the younger generations of musicians, in the Rockwatch area of the festival, the young talents and future rockstars enrolled in the “Pune mana pe chitara” program will have the opportunity to perform in front of the public, showcasing their work, and new, brave ideas.

The young Sibiu Revolver band is one of the bands who will have the chance to sing during the festival as part of this collaboration.

These young musicians (all of them are high school students) recorded and released their first album last year, in September, and promise an energetic show, with metalcore influences, worthy of the international metal scenes. Their songs voice the young generation preoccupations and problems: from the courage of opposing an oppressive system, to growing-up and finding self-respect.

Also, based on this partnership, all children enrolled in the program “Pune mana pe chitara” enjoy free access to the festival.

Since its first edition, ARTmania has focused on developing a sustainable festival and on reducing its carbon footprint. To maintain this direction, ARTmania continues its partnership with FEPRA for ensuring a responsible and eco-friendly management of festival waste.

FEPRA’s mission is to meet the recycling requirements of the Romanian market, working closely with local authorities and implementing the latest technologies to create smart cities in which citizens can live healthy and happy lives.

FEPRA will install recycling points within the festival, encouraging the public to collect separately and offering, through the “Sustainability Rocks!” contest, “smart” prizes for the most eco-friendly festival goers.

Festivalul ARTmania takes place between July 22 and 24, in the Large Square of SIbiu, with a line-up which includes: Mercyful Fate, Meshuggah, Transatlantic, Testament, Cult of Luna, Leprous, The Pineapple Thief, Stoned Jesus, The Vintage Caravan completate de Alternosfera, Bucovina, Dordeduh, Taine and the young Revolver band from Sibiu.
