The Alternative School launches the application period for Roger Hatchuel Academy

For the 17th year in a row, The Alternative School is organizing the selection for Roger Hatchuel Academy. Roger Hatchuel Academy is a prestigious career accelerator for young people aged 18 to 23, passionate about creativity, marketing, visual arts, communication disciplines in general. Approximately 30 students of different nationalities gather during the Cannes Lions festival, after having previously won local competitions in their home countries.

Throughout Cannes Lions 2021, the most prestigious festival of creative thinking globally, students have the chance to meet creatives, communicators and clients who start trends in global creativity, ask questions and solve briefs at workshops, while generating precious ideas based on top-class feedback.

Organized in partnership with Google Creative Campus, Roger Hatchuel Academy offers an intense and diverse learning program that will help students discover new pathways in the industry and gain a global, future-oriented perspective through networking.

Students go through a complex selection process, all over the world. In Romania, over 16 generations of Roger Hatchuel graduates have performed memorably, after studying at The Alternative School and then at Cannes. Among them – Oana Oprea – Jazz Communication, Ioana Halunga – UX Consultant with clients on 4 continents, Anca Ifrim, senior art director Heist Industries, Mara Cristina, professional marketing and creativity trainer, Andrei Lacatus, aka Surubel, vlogger, radioman, extraordinary entertainer. Over the years, 3 of The Alternative School veterans have won gold at the Cannes Academy competitions.

To register for the local competition, The Alternative School requires a 2-minute video in English where the candidates are presenting themselves and argue to why they are the right creatives to represent Romania at Roger Hatchuel Academy (Youtube link) and a CV/portfolio.

The competition is open to students up to 23 years old, and entries are accepted until October 15. The participation fee for the local competition is 50 euros and includes access to one-on-one personal branding sessions through Mealchemy.

The 3 finalists nominated by jurors from Romania will go through an international selection process, after which only one participant will be chosen to represent Romania at Roger Hatchuel Academy.
