Olivier Altmann from Publicis Worldwide – Jury president at Cresta 2012. Festival is open for entries

Creativity, Festivals & Awards

The Cresta Awards opened the entry period for its 20th worldwide competition and announced that the Jury President in 2012 will be Olivier Altmann, Chief Creative Officer Publicis Worldwide (Paris).

During his career, Olivier has worked for some of the world’s most iconic brands including Mercedes, BMW, Nestlé, McDonald’s, Michelin, Club Med, Samsung, Wonderbra, Coca Cola, PMU, Orange and Renault. He has won numerous awards, including Cannes Gold Lions, Clio Golds, One Show, two Eurobest Grand Prix, D&AD and the French Art Directors Club. He is regularly invited to sit on juries at Cannes, D&AD and the Clios. He has twice been Chairman of the Eurobest Jury.

I’m delighted and honoured to chair the 2012 Cresta Grand Jury. The Cresta Awards stand for a “no politics, no discussion” judging system. It allows a very large group of top creatives to assess and reward the best of the best, independently and in their own time, on the sole criteria of creativity without any category consideration. In short it means that the work has to speak for itself, in exactly the same way it does when consumers are exposed to it. This philosophy fits perfectly with the times that we are living in, where ideas have to be entertaining and inspiring enough that people want to support them and pass them on

All entries will be screened by several juries, who will compile a short-list of finalists that will be submitted to an International Grand Jury of expert creative directors, film specialists and graphic artists. Short-listed interactive entries will be judged by a separate Grand Jury of interactive experts. Work will be judged on originality of the creative idea and quality of its execution.

On Monday, 22 October 2012, winners will be released in the form of a mobile web app designed for the tablets and smart phones via (www.cresta-awards.com/2012).
