  • Bigger Group – the rebranded name of former Romanian Starlink and having as owner Marcel Straut – closed, after layoffs that started in December 2008 and continued in January. On March 16th, Bigger Group closed, with the team of 38 left jobless; further events saw Media Direction suing teh agency for unpaid debts of over Euro 1M and Stefan Voloaca announced the intention to make his own agency
  • Romanian DraftFCB and Initiative decided to reunite their efforts in media sales through Brand Connection. This is the 3rd move of this kind in the last 3 months. It all started with Spoon Media, Propaganda, Headvertising, Next and Odyssey that created ARM to sell media, than with Publicis’ media agencies, reunited in PGM.
  • Romanian Effie 2009 started receiving entries
  • McCann PR launched a new division, Snapshot, that will make PR exclusively online and channels still not fully used in Romania, like blogs.
