Leo Burnett Group Romania posted an increase turnover for 2009, up with 14% compared to 2008, from RON 231.01M to RON 262.48M. Leo Burnett Group Romania includes Leo Burnett & Target (advertising agency), Starcom MediaVest (media agency), The Practice (PR & consultancy agency), iLeo (interactive marketing), 23 Communication Ideas (ideas shop) and Tru Media Research (indoor and in store audience measurement specialist).
The biggest increase of the turnover – 43% – was posted, for the 2nd consecutive year, by iLeo.
In terms of value, the most important increase was registered by Starcom MediaVest Group, with a RON 170.32M turnover in 2009, from RON 152.18 in 2008.
Last year we were in the position to grow. We increased the turnover and profitability for each of group’s companies and this through consolidating brands from traditional clients, but also through other services we offer to all our clients. More than that, the financial performances are doubled by reconfirmations of the creative and strategic standards for each company in the group

2009 was a more difficult year also in terms of clients’ demand for immediate results. But every person working for Leo Burnett Group understood the necessities of the moment and answered correctly to those demands, with clear results. Each of the groups’ companies received prizes in national and international festivals and contests, so Leo Burnett Group Romania received, in 2009, a total of 20 prizes.
Speaking of prizes, Leo Burnett Group Romania is the only Romanian company that was awarded 3 Cannes Lions in the last years: PR Lion for The Practice and two other lions for Starcom and Leo Burnett, for Avon Romania and, respectively, Antipa Museum Bucharest.
In terms of new business in 2009, Leo Burnett Group’s agencies reached to a total of 64 clients and 154 brands in portfolio, among which Adevarul Holding (media), Groupama (creation), GE Money (media), Gusto (PR), Fiat (creation), Bergenbier SA (full service), Hochland (PR), Rosia Montana (full service), Zapp (interactive).
