Cannes Lions organizers announced, Friday, that Cannes Lions will change the date for 2012, after next year’s edition will take place in the period of time that advertising industry’s members are already used to.

This way, Cannes Lions 2011 will take place from June 19th to June 25th, while Cannes Lions 2012 will take place from June 3rd to June 9th.

The change of date for 2012 edition was decided because Palais de Festivals from Cannes needs refurbishment.

According to the organizers, the change comes because “The Palais in Cannes has been in need of refurbishment for some years, and the City have come to us to ask for flexibility in our dates so they may carry out significant improvement works which will make the venue truly world class”.

This year’s Cannes Lions saw an increased participation, in spite of the crisis.
