Alan Rutherford, World Chairman IAA, will head the jury at Romanian Effie Awards 2012, the organizers of the event announced.
Rutherford is World Chairman International Advertising Association (IAA) and, over his career, he had leading and management positions in some of the most prestigious international marcom companies, such as Ogilvy & Mather, Unilever or Digitas.
He joined Ogilvy & Mather in 1980, where he head the media department. Eight years later, he was promoted in European board of the agency, position he was occupying when he launched the 1st media network of the group.
In 1994, he becomes CEO Ogilvy Europe and, 4 years later, joins Unilever, where he held for 8 years the position of Global Vice President Media.
After he left Unilever, Alan headed Digitas and managed, in less than 3 years, to impose the agency as the widest digital communication network in the world.
3 years ago, in 2009, he launched Volume, one of the most important UK B2B agencies and, starting 2010, he heads his own audit and media&marketing consultancies.
In 2010, at the 42nd IAA Global Congress, he was elected World Chairman of the association.
The jury of Romanian Effies will include over 45 specialists in communication and representatives from clients, advertising agencies, research agencies and CEO from communication groups.
The entry period for the awards will end on May 18th, with the judging process to take place on May 31st and June 1st. The Awards Gala will be organized on June 4th.
This year, the competition is structured in 22 categories of products and services, where agencies and clients can enter their campaigns. More details on the competition and the entry terms for works are available on Romanian Effie’s website
