Absolut Vodka pleads for Art’s democratization, with a new initiative


Absolut Vodka launches the dare “Absolut Artists” and, through an homonym Facebook app, each artist has the opportunity to propose an idea, to draw a sketch or to make a work on the given theme: “It All Starts with an Absolut Blank”. Artists’ works will be judged by public and a specialized jury. The first 3 artists that will gather the biggest number of votes and jury’s marks will recreate, on a bigger scale, the works they proposed and will expose them on the Absolut Blank bottle, that has 8 meter high.

Also, every winning artist will be awarded a prize of Euro 500. Through this action, the Absolut Blank works are freely elected by the public, and their quality is appreciated and guaranteed by the specialized jury.

You have on your table a brand that supports art for almost 30 years, in a global artistic move, an art experiment in local progress and a huge bottle. What happens if you mix them? You get a new artistic proposal from Absolut Vodka.

Through the new app, we wish our proposal to reach as many art and unconventional fans as possible, maybe even to those who didn’t dare or didn’t have the opportunity to show their talent until now. “Absolut Artists” supports young talents and dares them to a creative battle, offering, in the end, to the 3 winners, the opportunity to project their works on one of the biggest Absolut artistic bottles ever made.

Absolut Blank, the campaign that started the creativity in Romania in October 2011, means art, inspiration, vibrante colors, daring textures and work in progress. Many Romanian artists created, without restrictions or conditions, works that represent them and that they will expose on a huge bottle, of 8 meters high.

To allow all artists to express freely, Absolut Blank launches the creative challenge “Absolut Artists”, with help from Contemporary Art Galery Art Yourself. The works can be entered in contest exclusively through the FB app, between July 11th – August 26th. The public is invited to vote during this period, with winners to be announced on August 30th.
