Cannes Lions Romania, Antalis and BDC announce “10 Years of Romanian Creativity on the World’s Stages” competition

Creativity, Innovation

Cannes Lions Romania celebrates, in 2015, its 10th anniversary, and so does the Creative MBA program The Alternative School for Creative Thinking.

“The first 10 golden years” is the pretext for the graphic and product design competition (check the design brief), where young creatives with training in those areas are invited to join. The age limit to take part is 28. The participants can submit their solutions either individually or in teams of 2. The best ideas are rewarded with scholarships worth Euro 2500 at The Alternative School’s Cannes semester, starting in February.

After 8 weeks of intense learning and internal competitions, the best team qualifies to represent Romania in the Young Lions Design competition at Cannes Lions, the most reputed creative thinking festival worldwide. It takes place throughout 10 days, on the French Riviera.

In 2013, Alex Haidamac and Natalia Sfetcu – one of the alternative teams – were awarded gold at the same competition, where other 17 teams from countries with tradition in design have competed.

The winners of “The First 10 golden years” competition will be announced on February 26th, during «The Best of Design» / «The best of Product Design» event, the first in “The best of Cannes” event series taking place this year.

The shortlisted solutions and the winning ones will be discovered and explored during the same event.

The jury of the competition is comprised of Teodora Migdalovici – Ambasador Lions Festivals, Alina Penciu and Ioana Bobi – Antalis, Bianca Dumitrascu, Gold winner at Cannes Lions 2014, Alex Haidamac, Gold winner at Cannes Lions 2013 and Olga Sanda, BDC.

The partners of this project are Antalis Romania, Arjowiggins, Bucharest Design Center and Fabrik. Media support offered by WeInvent and Ad Hugger.
