Ogilvy & Mather London hires Mick Mahoney as Chief Creative Officer

Business, Creativity, People

Ogilvy & Mather London (O&M London) has appointed former RKCR/Y&R ECD Mick Mahoney to the role of Chief Creative Officer (CCO) to lead the agency’s creative output across its client portfolio in the UK. He will take up his post this month and will report into newly appointed CEO, Charlie Rudd.

Mahoney’s appointment further strengthens the new senior team at Sea Containers including, Charlie Rudd, CEO who joined early in the year and Chief Strategy Officer, Kevin Chesters who joins the agency in the Spring.

Mahoney, Executive Creative Director at RKCR/Y&R from 2013 to 2015, previously worked as Executive Creative Director at Havas Worldwide London for four years, and from 2006 as Creative Director at BBH London, where he worked with Ogilvy’s newly appointed CEO, Charlie Rudd.

He is known for big ideas generation as well as his craft and has created outstanding work for leading brands, including Vodafone, Land Rover, Unilever and Johnnie Walker. He has won over 150 industry awards, including a Cannes Grand Prix, 4 Gold Lions, 6 Silver Lions, a One Show Best In Show, 5 D&AD Silvers, and 5 BTAA Golds.

Mick is a rare creative talent.  Not only is he driven by the quality of the output and making all the work better but he is equally creative in thinking about how agencies need to change to stay relevant to Clients’ changing needs.  I can’t wait to partner with him again.

Ogilvy & Mather’s creative ambition has continually impressed me. Network of the Year at Cannes for the last 4 years tells its own story. So, it’s a privilege to be part of the new team that will help define its future at Sea Containers House.  And of course, I’m looking forward to working with Charlie again. Can’t wait to get going.
