The results at Cannes Lions 2016 placed Publicis Romania on the first place among Publicis offices in Central & Eastern Europe and 4th place worldwide, after Marcel Paris, Publicis Italy and Duval Guillaume Belgium.
I’m happy and proud of this results at Cannes 2016. It’s the best performance to date at Cannes by Publicis Romania and Nurun, and one of Publicis’ best in the world: in fact, our agency is now top 4 office worldwide – almost a dream come true.
Moreover, we achieved this with 3 different projects, all of which are contemporary digital and somehow experimental campaigns that push the limits of traditional advertising. I¹m particularly proud of the shortlists for Carrefour that I know were very close to transform into bronzes. This all represents a further step in solidifying our position as one of the top offices in the region and beyond.

The 3 campaigns, awarded and shortlisted at Cannes Lions 2016 (“Street View Test” for The Automobile Club of Romania, “Bernie Speed Test” for ArCuB Bucharest 2021, and “Shop like a Jedi for Carrefour Romania) scooped, in 2016, another 11 trophies at advertising festivals, such as: D&AD, New York Festivals and FIBRA Awards.
This year to date, Publicis Romania and Nurun, the digital agency part of Publicis Groupe Romania, received 27 trophies and had 16 works shortlisted at the biggest international and national festivals.
- The “Street View Test” campaign for The Automobile Club of Romania won the Silver Lion in the Promo & Activation category (Use of Digital Platforms). The campaign was also shortlisted in Direct – Commercial Public Services.
- “Bernie Speed Test”, a campaign for ArCuB 2021 won a Silver Lion in PR for Response / Real-time Activity. The campaign won two more shortlists in PR (for Public Sector and Costs / Creative Performance PR Campaign).
- “Shop like a Jedi” campaign for Carrefour Romania got 2 shortlists in Media (for Retail, e-Commerce, Restaurants & Fast Food Chains and Use of Screens).
