The Aliman winery is a project started in July 2019 and completed this year. The total value of the investment amounts to €5.23M, of which €2.5M came from public funding from Agency for Financing Rural Investments (AFIR), part of the Romanian Ministry of Agriculture, Forests and Rural Development.

Patrik Simek, the founder of Alira Grand Vins.

“We’ll continue investing in our team and marketing so that we make sure we’ll provide the quality of the exceptional wines that the public expects from us. We are a reference boutique winery, and this must be passed on to wine connoisseurs in Romania, but also abroad. It’s a very important day for us, we celebrate the generosity of the Dobrogea terroir with an ultra-modern winery”

At Aliman winery, modern technologies are combined with traditional processes, such as hand-picking and careful selection of grapes. The winery is also equipped with a grape reception line both manual and automated while the processing and storage capacity is approximately 1.2 million liters. The winery is equipped with a state-of-the-art processing line, directly from industry leaders in Italy, France, Bulgaria and Romania.

The Aliman project has relied on the use of renewable energy to support as many of the processes necessary for winemaking as possible. As a result, an important part of the winery’s energy consumption is provided by green energy, through photovoltaic panels, with an installed power of 104kW, mounted directly on the roof. Moreover, the air conditioning of the Aliman winery is provided by a renewable energy system formed in a geothermal field with 30 boreholes at a depth of 100 meters, equipped with a ground source heat pump that ensures high efficiency. The winery has an independent water source, equipped with a water quality assurance system and a treatment pool, complemented by its own analysis laboratory, equipped to the highest European standards.

Beyond the winery’s technological performance, Aliman means more than 20 new jobs and is already attracting 100 seasonal workers in this EU-funded project. Here are cultivating varieties like Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Syrah, Fetească Neagră, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. The Aliman winery also offers the possibility of organizing winery tours and tastings for groups of up to 50 people.

Alira Grand Vins was founded in 2016 by the sole shareholder Patrik Simek, a private investor with legal experience and a fine connoisseur passionate about Romanian wines.
