Adriana Stara, appointed General Manager AbbVie Romania

AbbVie Romania, biopharma company, announced changes at top management level, with the appointment of Adriana Stara as General Manager, replacing Jorge Ruiz Benecke. Previously, Stara was GM at Allergan Aesthetics in Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Baltics starting 2020.

Adriana Stara:

I am honored to join AbbVie Romania and to bring forward company’s mission to have a considerable impact over patients’ lives, by approaching some of the most severe health issues. I am proud, in the same time, to join AbbVie transformation process, which will finalize this year the integration of Allergan Aesthetics and of our global unit of Pharma-vigilence and Patients Safety in one company. Our fingerprint in Romania increases significantly with this integration and we want to share from our expertise in order to contribute to the advance of innovation and medical care services in Romania.

The objective of my mandate is to continue to increase the value of AbbVie as long term partner for those who are sharing company’s vision when it comes to constantly providing innovative solutions and I am looking forward to adapt these solutions to local needs. We will explore new possibilities, options to raise the care standards for Romanian patients via partnerships with main interested parties from health sector and we are ready to model a healthier future

Adriana Stara started her career in sales and had different roles in sales and marketing and was GM in several renown companies, with operations in many countries and exposure to different cultures. Over her career, her name was associated with managerial roles in pharma companies like Serono, AstraZeneca sau Medtronic.

She studies organic chemistry in Bratislava and finalized her pharmaceutical studies at Aix-Marseille University France. She holds an MBA from Free University Bruxelles.

To take over the new position, Adriana Stara relocates from Czech Republic to Bucharest, Romania.

AbbVie is a biopharma company launched in 2013, when it split from Abbott Laboratories.
