Over 300 children supported for Easter through the Dana Voiculescu Foundation campaign “Dress and Shoe a child for Easter”
The Dana Voiculescu Foundation successfully concluded the campaign “Dress and Shoe a Child for Easter,” an initiative dedicated to supporting children from disadvantaged communities by giving them the opportunity to celebrate Easter with new clothes and footwear. More than 300 children from the counties of Ilfov, Prahova, and Buzău benefited from this campaign, carried out at the beginning of April.
Launched at the beginning of March, the campaign reached its peak with the distribution of gifts, turning the days leading up to Easter into an experience filled with emotion and hope for the beneficiaries. The initiative was made possible thanks to the involvement of donors, partners, and supporters who contributed to its success.

Tangible results in three counties and seven communities
The campaign began on April 1 in Micșuneștii Mari (Ilfov), where 50 children from Primary School No. 2, part of the “Adopt a School” program, received gifts. On April 2, the Foundation’s team arrived in Matița (Prahova), offering gifts to another 50 children. The campaign concluded on April 3 in Buzău County, where 230 children from the villages of Bisoca, Lacurile, Pleși, Rudari, and Sările were pleasantly surprised with gifts. The atmosphere in each community was marked by enthusiasm and gratitude, with children welcoming the Foundation’s team with smiles and genuine emotion.
“The Dana Voiculescu Foundation’s Easter initiative brought joy and emotion to the hearts of the children from Primary School No. 2 in Micșuneștii Mari. Together with my colleague, I witnessed immense happiness and boundless curiosity when the children opened their gifts. They always await your visits with excitement and affection. For us, as teachers, this means one thing: you are doing wonderful work! We sincerely thank all the kind-hearted people involved. Dear friends, today you placed a smile in the soul and on the face of a little person who will one day become a great person and follow your example!”, said Ana Maria Lefter, teacher at Primary School No. 2 in Micșuneștii Mari, Ilfov.

“We witnessed the sincere and innocent joy of the students and preschoolers from the Primary School in Matița, alongside the representatives of the Dana Voiculescu Foundation, through whose support every child received new clothing, footwear, and sweets on the eve of the Resurrection holiday. Such occasions are very rare in our community.
We thank everyone who contributed to making this project possible: those who initiated it, those who worked on collecting all the information, and those who purchased and offered the gifts. May God reward a thousandfold the love and dedication of each person involved. We warmly welcome you anytime you have the opportunity to visit the village of Matița, so that together we may exchange thoughts and impressions about our community and recharge your batteries for many more beautiful and successful projects,” said Mihalcea Ionel, parish priest of the Matița Parish, Păcureți commune, Prahova County.
Extended support for seniors as well
At the same time, the Dana Voiculescu Foundation continued its “Solidarity Meal” program, providing non-perishable food supplies to 80 elderly people from the same communities, thereby supporting some of the most vulnerable members of society.
“For us, this campaign is not only about clothes or shoes, but about dignity, hope, and belonging. We want every child to feel the joy of the holidays and step into Easter night with confidence and a smile on their face. The fact that, together with everyone involved, we managed to bring light into the lives of more than 300 children and provide support for seniors confirms that solidarity can change destinies.
I would like to thank everyone who chose to be part of this initiative — donors, local collaborators, and online supporters — and who transformed generosity into concrete actions. Every act of kindness matters. The joy of the children and the gratitude of the seniors demonstrate that the true value of the holidays lies in solidarity and caring for those around us,” said Dana Voiculescu, founder of the Foundation.
