New overhaul of Facebook privacy – less settings to make information private

Facebook announced recently a new overhaul for its privacy settings, simplifying the way an user can set up the way his page is being viewed by others.

In this direction, the number of settings required to make all information private was reduced from almost 50 to less than 18, there were introduced presets that cover 18 individual settings for sharing with one single control, 10 previous settings were consolidate in seven and put in one single page from three different pages before. Besides that, the number of separate pages in the privacy settings was reduced from 13 to eight.

For the moment, not all new settings are available or visible to the users, but they will be introduced gradually.
