Eurobest launches the PR competition starting this year. The 2010 edition will take place in the first week of December, in Hamburg (Germany).
Romanian PR industry was very appreciated in Cannes, both in prizes and nominees and also in what concerns the jurors. In 2009, Eliza Rogalski was the Romanian member in the inaugural PR Lions jury while, in 2010, Gabriela Lungu was the Romanian juror. Also, The Practice, the agency Gabriela Lungu is managing, won a Silver Lion in PR at Cannes Lions.
Teodora Migdalovici, representative of the festival in Romania, thinks it is possible that the lobby made in the last years to bring Romania an eligible juror place for the PR competition in Eurobest. According to her, Romania has enough performant companies for which such a nomination will represent either a chance or an international confirmation of their value.
In the last 5 years, Romanian marcom specialists were in juries at Eurobest, Dubai Lynx and Cannes: Alina Gavrila, Corina Bernschutz, Claudiu Dobrita, Dragos Grigoriu, Gabriela Lungu, Eliza Rogalski, Laura Tampa, Jorg Riommi, Razvan Capanescu, Stefan Iordache or Zoltan Szigeti.
The Romanian office of Cannes Lions started, six years ago, an initiative dedicated to seniors in media, PR and creation agencies, to promote them internationally, and started The Alternative School for Creative Thinking.
The Alternative School for Creative Thinking is the only form of marketing and communication specialization that offers anually, starting 2005, competitional and study experiences in Romania and abroad for a consistent number of young students. In the last five years, over 120 students and young creatives, selected after inetrnal competitions, were present at Cannes Lions, Eurobest or Dubai Lynx.
