Romania enters the Eurobest race with 30 entries

Romania is present in this year’s Eurobest festival with 30 entries, while the competition registered a total of 4,339 entries from 37 countries in 13 categories, with an increase of 8% compared to 2009’s edition. Check entry summary by country Eurobest 2010.

Romanian agencies entered Film (5 entries), Interactive (2 entries), Integrated (2 entries), Print (5 entries), Outdoor (5 entries), Radio (3 entries), Direct (2), Design (1) and PR (5).

Decreases in the number of entries were registered for categories such as Film, Print (-11%) and Outdoor (-23%). Mobile and Promo are new categories and they attracted 58 and, respectively, 142 entries. The biggest increase in entries was registered, this year, by Promo&Activation – 90%, the number of entries rising from 145 to 276.

On countries, Germany has the biggest number of entries (835), followed by France (665), Sweden (501), Belgium (318) and UK (307).

Because the number of entries was unexpected, four more jurors were appointed in Direct and Interactive categories: Stefan Wübbe, Creative Director Kolle Rebbe (Germany),  Jan W Skjølberg, Art Director Dinamo (Norway) – Direct and Promo & Activation, Stefan Rasch, Chief Executive Officer Screenagers (Austria) and Oguz Savasan, Creative Partner Rabara Digital (Turkey) – Interactive.

The 3rd Eurobest Festival incorporating the 23rd Eurobest Awards, Europe’s largest creative advertising & communications competition, takes place in Hamburg 6-8 December.

Launched in 1988, Eurobest is Europe’s leading annual awards competition for creative excellence in the categories of Film, Print, Outdoor, Radio, Interactive, Mobile, Media, Direct, Sales Promotion, Design, Craft, PR and Integrated advertising. The awards, which are judged by Europe’s top creatives, form part of a two-day Festival themed to identify and engage specific topics that are relevant to the European market. Launched in 2008, the Festival has been held in Stockholm and Amsterdam. Organised by the same team behind the Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival, the Dubai Lynx International Advertising Festival and Spikes Asia, the Eurobest Advertising Festival is a purely European event.
