US Visa campaign continues – Facebook stage

Creativity

“Visa for US” information campaign will continue, as Bogdan Aurescu, Romanian Forreign Affairs Secretary of State, and Stephen Vann, US General Consul in Bucharest, announced recently. The campaign will continue to offer info to Romanian citizens interested in obtaining American temporary visas.

The main novelty element in the 3rd stage of the “Visa for US” is represented by the supplementary info on “overstay” rate (surpassing the legal term during which one is allowed to stay in US), considering that this might represent a new criteria for our country’s ascendence to Visa Waiver program. In this context, this stage of the campaign will focus not only on the criteria that must be respected by citizens to correctly prepare their visa files, but also on the importance that all Romanian citizens that obtain the US travel visa must give to respect the term of staying in US that they announced in their visa forms

The temporary visa demand rejection rate for Romanian citizens was decreasing in the last year, from 26.3% in 2009 to 22.4% in 2011.

During the new stage of the campaign, the message for Romanians interested to get a temporary US visa is transmitted via Romanian Foreign Ministry’s page on Facebook, through a special component, and through a radio ad.

The digital program and the radio ad were made and produced pro bono by Kaleidoscope Proximity, digital division of BBDO Group Romania and, respectively, by Graffiti BBDO. The radio spot will be broadcasted on National state radio stations such as Romania Actualitati, Radio Romania International, Radio Romania Bucuresti FM and Radio Romania 3 Net.

The relaunch of this campaign comes also as, on American Congress’ agenda, in both chambers, there was introduced, in May 2012, a new law project “The JOLT Act” (Jobs Originating Through Launching Travel), that also includes a section regarding Visa Waiver program.
