Asian creatives join Red Apple’s jury

Creativity

Representatives from leading advertising European and Asian agencies joined MIAF’s International Jury, headed by Kevin Brady, Group Creative Director DROGA5 (USA).

Red Apple’s International Jury has the hard mission to chose the winners in all categories, and that’s why the organizers of the festival tried to get as jurors specialists from different areas – interactive, media, design, craft. From a geographic point of view, jury’s composition is very interesting, with members from Asia, Europe and CIS.

Asia will be represented by Tim Cheng, Executive Creative Director Tribal DDB Beijing (China) and Trong Tantivejakul, Chief Creative Officer Y&R Bangkok (Thailand). Also in the jury is Hyun Jong Lee, Chief Creative Officer HS Ad, representing South Korea.

Tim Cheng was, for the past 16 years, an award winning art director and creative director at digital agencies around Europe and Australia. Born in Hong Kong, Tim returned to his home city in 2009, assuming the role of Executive Creative Director at Tribal DDB Hong Kong, an agency with a portfolio including clients such as McDonalds, Philips, Intel, and Financial Times.

In just 2 and a half years, Tim helped transforming Tribal DDB into the most respected and awarded creative digital agency in Hong Kong. He has now extended his focus to Greater China, and is leading the Tribal DDB Beijing creative team.

Among the awards he received, there are prizes and accolades at Spikes, AdFest, Webby, D&AD and Cannes. As Juror, he was involved in judging at Spikes, AdFest, IAB, and he also was present, as speaker, to local and international creative conferences. Currently, he leads Tribal DDB’s Creative Council for APAC and is member of DDB Group’s Executive Creative Council.

Inspired by a revolution in Thai advertising in the 1980s, Tantivejakul studied advertising at Bangkok University. He started as a copywriter at McCann-Erickson USA and, later, returned to Thailand to work at Leo Burnett and Y&R. With over twenty years experience, he has multiple prizes and awards at AdFest, D&AD, the Clios, Communication Arts, One Show and Cannes Lions.

Hyun Jong Lee has begun his career worked in LGAd as a copywriter and, later, became Creative Director. In 2005, he started working at Welcom as a Vice President, than at WiseBell (ECD President). Currently, he is CCO of HSAd. He was juror in Asia Pacific Advertising Festival (AD FEST) and Pusan international advertise Festival (AD Star).
