McCann Erickson Romania and Saatchi&Saatchi – first Romanian agencies awarded at Golden Drum 2012

 McCann Erickson Romania and Saatchi&Saatchi Bucharest were the first Romanian agencies awarded at this year’s edition of Golden Drum, during the Single Channel Awards Gala.

McCann Erickson Romania got 2 important awards: Gold & Grand Prix in Digital for Romanians are Smart (Rom).

It is an important Grand Prix because it was awarded within a strategic category for us, Digital. We are happy Rom continues the series of awards and gives us strong sensations in all festivals it is present in

We won Grand Prix and Gold for digital, the only segment for which media investments increased in 2012. So we think we are already pretty well prepared to satisfy clients’ more and more intense interest for this area

Saatchi&Saatchi Romania was also awarded during the 1st Golden Drum gala, receiving a Silver for “Braveheart”, part of the “Motivational GPS” campaign (Client: Toyota). The awarded execution was shortlisted within Radio category, together with the other 2 executions of the campaign, 300 and Gladiator.

We’re very happy with this prize as it awards our long lasting relationship with Toyota and the creative ideas.

 Saatchi team working on this campaign included: Johan Ohlson (Executive Creative Director), Laura Iane (Group Creative Director), Andrei Nica (Copywriter), Ema Spirache / Corina Bratu (Account Director / Manager), Alexandra Ivan (Group Account Director).

During the 1st Portoroz gala, Single Channel Awards Ceremony saw awarded 38 Silver Drums, 23 Golden Drums and 9 Grand Prix. Most Golden Drums were awarded in Digital and Outdoor, while most Silver ones were awarded in Design of Brand and  Corporate Identity and Outdoor.

Single Channel Jury was lead by its president Pawel Heinze, while jurors were Aljosa Bagola, Martin Dimitrov, Lajos Horvath, Jean-Paul Lefebvre, Robert Slovak, Tereza Sverakova, Alistair Thompson, Juan Pablo Valencia, Folker Wrage and Shahir Zag.

Also, in Single Channel, representatives of Golden Drum, Golden Drum Competition Council and President of the Single Channel Jury decided to disqualify shortlisted entries from Ogilvy&Mather Hungary (in Print and Putdoor), as they received written statements from representatives of the Hungarian national creative festival Arany Penge identifying the executions as scam ads.
