adidas launches Ebenezer Snoop’s story, the Christmas campaign

adidas launched a new Christmas campaign starring Ilie Nastase, Snoop Lion (ex Snoop Dogg), David Beckham and Rita Ora. The entire “Ebenezer Snoop Story” is centered around an online movie in which Snoop Lion, starring as Ebenezer Snoop, tells about the importance of Christmas spirit. The story continues on the Facebook page, where the user is invited to check if he is also Ebenezer.

“Ebenezer Snoop’s Story” is a virtual journey in which the consumer, along with Snoop Lion and  skateboarder Mark Gonzales, are travelling in a world illustrated by JJ Sedelmaier, the creator of Beavis & Butthead. Following Dicken’s “Christmas Story” happenings, Ebenezer Snoop is visited by the ghosts of past holidays  (Stan Smith), present holidays (David Beckham) and future ones (Derrick Rose and Rita Ora), that show to him how it was, is and will be his life in case he stays Ebenezer.

“Ebenezer You” is the Facebook app launched by adidas and Ebenezer Snoop for the users, where they can find out if they like Snoop. Each person gets into a personalized journey, where Ebenezer Snoop analyzes comments, answers given for different events and greetings posted by users on their friends profiles.

App has as characters personalities from sports, music and art worlds, such as  Ilie Nastase, Stan Smith, Jeremy Scott, Dani Alves, Joe Tsonga, Steve Aoki, Yohan Blake, Andy Murray, Dwight Howard and many others, all drew by  JJ Sedelmaier.

The holidays campaign “Ebnezer Snoop’s Story” talks, in adidas’ style, about the importance of winter holidays. Ebenezer Snoop is a character that was surrounded by friends but lost the Spirit of Christmas and demands us to check if we’re in the same situation. For this campaign, we used internationally known personalities, that both young people and adults easily recognize, and we created an amusing story that aims to remind users of Christmas’ spirit
