Eurobest made public the first shortlists of the festival, with McCann Erickson Bucharest and Webstyler Romania being the only Romanian agencies present that go in finals in this year’s festival competition.
As expected, McCann Erickson got the highest number of nominations, with its “Romanians are Smart” campaign, made for the client Kandia Dulce and Rom chocolate. Rom campaign – heavily awarded this year – got 7 nominations (2 in direct, 3 in media and 2 in PR).
When it comes of Webstyler, it entered PR shortlist with “See beyond limits”, an innovative campaign with spectacular results and that managed to go beyond Romania’s borders, generating a positive impact for Romania in the international press. The client for this campaign was Romtelecom – Dolce.
94 jury members are currently in Lisbon judging 4,847 entries in the 15 categories of contest. 12 shortlists were released for the Film, Print, Outdoor, Radio, Direct, Promo & Activation, Media, Mobile, Interactive, Design, PR and Branded Content & Entertainment categories. The shortlisted work is currently being exhibited and screened at the Cinema São Jorge in Lisbon, home to the 2012 Festival. The juries are now deliberating and debating over the shortlists to decide on those entries worthy enough to take home a Eurobest trophy.
Young Creatives Integrated Competition also started, with 16 teams competing to create an integrated campaign consisting of three different types of media. The campaigns will be judged by a dedicated jury who will decide on which team best deserves to take the winning title. The winning team will be announced alongside all of this year’s winners at the Awards Ceremony taking place on Friday 30 November in Lisbon.
