Subway reaches to 40,000 locations globally, opened the 4000th in Bucharest

Business

Subway submarine sandwich chain – franchising since 1965 – celebrates soon its 48th year in business. This comes as it opened its 40,000th location in Ipswich (England) and its 4000th location in Europe in North Train Station in Bucharest.

The milestone opening illustrates the strength and consistent growth of Subway brand – it opened 1,761 new locations around the world since the start of 2013.

The level of growth we’ve experienced in Europe is a fantastic achievement and reflects the strong entrepreneurial spirit of the Subway franchisees, who work hard every day to provide a great product and create an exceptional customer experience for every customer that walks into a Subway store (…) We are also particularly proud of the support system the brand has to support its franchisees.

Marc Kreder,

Regional Director for Europe.

This latest milestone achievement puts Subway ahead of its competitors in the Quick Service Restaurant industry, making it more convenient for customers to eat a submarine sandwich or chopped salad. Of the top QSR chains, the next closest is more than 5,500 locations behind Subway.
