One week to SEM Days: 59% of Romanian online acquisitions started on Google

SEM Days – the most important Romanian event dedicated to SEO and PPC solutions – is one week away and will take place on September 18-19. The event expects over 300 marketing professionals and online store managers to attend and meet local and international SEM specialists and, more important, to find out how they can increase their online visibility and, subsequently, their sales.

Romanian businesses that already expanded online are feeling the powerful influence Google has over sales. Recent studies show that 59% of the online buys made online in Romania started on Google, with a research of the available offers. Due to this habits consumers adopted, online retailer’s interest over promotion solution over Google, such as PPC and SEO,  increased and those solutions are many times included in the online marketing strategies.

One of the big Romanian companies that took in consideration the online trends was METRO Cash & Carry, that launched in 2012 an e-commerce portal targeting companies, METRO Magazin Online. The decision to adopt a new channel brought to the company an increase in number of clients and in the frequency of buys. According to Cosmin Costea, Managger e-Commerce Metro Cash&Carry Romania,  his company’s objective is to have an integrated communication on all marketing channels; METRO uses SEO, Search Engine Advertising and other online marketing elements (generation of relevant content and social media promotion).

SEM Days is the only niche event that comes to support online retailers with new solutions and case studies; the themes adopted this year are dedicated to the beneficiaries of SEO and PPC services.

Among the international speakers to attend to this year’s event are Brad Geddes, the 1st AdWords Seminar Leader appointed by Google and the author of the most appreciated Google AdWords book. Considered an emblem of PPC world, Brad comes for the 1st time in Romania to attend to SEM Days. During the 2 days of the event, he will present the new Google promotion solutions (Enhanced Campaigns) and examples.

SEM is a huge opportunity for any business to  communicate to all potential clients that are using the internet, right at the moment when they need the product or service the company is offering. But, as any opportunity, it has a limited life duration. Today, the big number of businesses that are accessing this promotional channel increase the click price, which generates the need to develop higher performance campaigns that would cover from sales the spent budget.
