The Alternative School is open for entries for design classes

The Alternative School announced it is open for entries for Design classes scheduled to take place during Cannes semester. Young people aged max 28 y.o. and vocation for visual communication and specialization in design, art direction, illustration and brand building can apply for the classes until March 17th.

The best teams that will win the local competition organized by The Alternative School for Creative Thinking will qualify for the study experience and the competition at Cannes Lions 2014.

The design class lasts 6 weeks, with meetings on Tuesday evenings ( 19.00 – 21.00) and Saturday mornings (11.00 – 14.00), with the participation fee for a 2 people team being of Euro 500.

The teams will be working on real briefs, have access to case studies awarded in class A competition, receive feedback from specialists with known results and have the occasion to consolidate their portfolio with works they can upgrade afterwards. As each year, the best of them have the opportunity to undergo internships.

The teachers in Design during Cannes semester are Andres Vergara, Ionut Radulescu, Ioana Halunga, Alex Haidamac, Gabriel Mihai Botarel and Iashido.

The list of Cannes semester speakers for Design section will also include other renown professionals.

Natalia Sfetcu and Alex Haidamac, the Alternative team that entered the Young Lions Design competition, won Gold for Romania last year. It was the only Romanian Gold in young creatives competitions at Cannes last year. Team’s presence in Cannes was supported by Renania, that will support the category in 2014 also.

During the last 9 years, hundreds of graduates of the program benefited of international specializations at Cannes Lions, Eurobest and Dubai Lynx. The competences of The Alternative School’s classes were confirmed at global scale, through a series of international awards associated with the names of the students and graduates of the school, starting 2005

In its 9th year of existence, The Alternative School program offers an unique educational experience, where Romanian and foreign professionals share from their experience, evaluate students’ solutions, give constructive feedback and offer to students guidance in exercising their Creative Thinking abilities.
